One Donegal mammy had the shock of her life when her daughter surprised her by coming home for Christmas.

The growing trend of children coming home early for Christmas and sneaking in to surprise their unsuspecting parents provides some very entertaining and heartwarming videos as they are posted online.

Here’s one from Letterkenny girl Lisa Shiels, who came home early from Brisbane, Australia. Her mother was completely stunned to silence as she comes into the living room looking for tea.

Commenting on the Facebook video, Lisa posted: “I thought an ambulance was gona havta be called. My poor wee mammy haha… The surprise is finally out and it looks like I’m home for Christmas.”
