Agnes would be in a right tizzy if she had up to 2,800 people over for dinner, but the Mrs Brown's Boys team are ensuring that this number of people get their turkey and ham this Sunday.
Actor Brendan O’Carroll, his wife Jenny and the Brown/O’Carroll families have made a very substantial donation to the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) on behalf of everyone involved in Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Brendan’s son Danny lives in Donegal with his wife Amanda Woods, who is from Manorcunningham. They both have starring roles in the show.
As a result, vouchers for a Christmas dinner are once more being distributed in the SVP East Region to families supported by the Society. That means hundreds of families in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow won’t go hungry this Christmas.
Liam Casey, President of the SVP East Region said the tremendous generosity of Mrs. Brown’s Boys means that many families who might have missed out on the traditional Christmas meal will not be disappointed.
“We have seen an increase in requests for food this year and these vouchers will make a huge difference to many families. The vouchers, signed Brendan, Jenny and all the Brown and O’Carroll families also make the vouchers themselves special.” said Liam Casey.
“The Irish public have been extremely generous to the SVP in the past through their financial donations and we are dependent on them to continue their support into the future.” said Liam Casey.
