Style columnist Breid McDaid demonstrates the versatility of the sleeveless jacket
Happy New Year All! I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities and that the bite back to reality wasn’t too harsh.
It’s never an easy process, aiming to get back into a routine after some well earned over-indulgence. January can be a bleak month in many respects, why not brighten things up with a little purchase towards building your Spring/Summer wardrobe.
Yep I did, I just said it. Would you believe there’s now Easter eggs exploding onto the shelves in Tesco?! I’d say they just about held themselves back on Stephen’s Day.
It’s strange to think about making this transition when in some ways it still feels like we are in the depths of Winter.
Why not ease ourselves in with the addition of the ever so stylish sleeveless jacket?
Whether you gravitate towards the structured tailored look, or prefer the laid back duster style, it is most definitely a key piece of clothing worth considering.
The sleeveless jacket is a very versatile wardrobe staple.
It can worn many different ways, teamed with a trusty white shirt alongside a pair of distressed denims and trainers for a dressed down, casual look. If feeling glamorous, add a pair of heels to make a somewhat stronger statement.
A simple fine knit polo neck teamed with a pair of leather/leather look trousers and ankle boots can be quite effective, one that I often revert back to when in need of an effortless chic combination.
When the temperatures start to become a little warmer in the coming months you could easily swap the leathers for an a-line skirt to achieve an equally chic look.
A pair of over–the-knee boots would work well with this particular ensemble.
As always, thanks for taking the time to read.
Until next time,
