Donegal teen Danielle McDevitt helped Ulster to glory in the Lidl All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Interprovincial Tournament at the weekend.
McDevitt was the only Donegal player on the Ulster panel for the tournament held in Mullingar. Ulster denied Connacht a three-in-a-row. In the final, Ulster took the silverware on a 2-7 to 1-1 scoreline.
Ulster led 0-3 to 0-1 at half-time and added goals from Maria Canavan and Orla Prenter in the second-half. Ulster defeated Leinster 5-3 to 2-5 and Connacht 1-7 to 1-2 in the group stages.
In the final group game, Ulster narrowly lost 2-4 to 2-3, with McDevitt scoring one of the goals.
McDevitt, a pupil of attends St Columba’s Comprehensive School in Glenties, was named on the Post Primary Schools Ulster All Star Team last month.
McDevitt is also a talented soccer player with Donegal Town FC at underage level and last year won a League and Cup double with Lagan Harps seniors, while she was capped by the Republic of Ireland Under-17s.
