Kerrykeel woman Caoimhe Walsh brought her Mulroy College team to victory today in the FAI Schools Senior B title today in Dublin
Mulroy College 2 St Peter’s Community School 1 (after extra time)
It meant a case of third time lucky for the Mulroy girls after two final defeats against St Peter’s, from Passage West in Cork, in the last two years.
Walsh struck an equalising goal eight minutes from the end and she proved the match-winner in extra time.
Maria Ryan-Carr’s team claimed a famous win amid joyous scenes at Belgrove FC.
Kellyann Bucjanan went close for Mulrory, but saw an early effort deflect wide while Leah Duggan was closer still soon after, heading against the crossbar from a ball in by Buchanan.

Five minutes into the second half, St Peter’s hit the front when Danielle Burke’s dangerous ball into the box managed to find its way past Claire Friel, the Mulroy goalkeeper.
Just when it appeared as if Mulroy would run out of time, Walsh struck a memorable equaliser.
Sub Claudia Ward might have netted when she connected to a free-kick by captain Zoe Green, but it was inches wide.
Walsh, though, grabbed the headlines when she took receipt of a pass by Buchanan and her finish was true, giving Katie Irwin no chance of a save.
