Fifth class students at Letterkenny Educate Together have been very busy putting together some incredible projects!
They made LEGO Stop Motion movies which are entering the Fís Film Festival, are making a class website for the Junior Spiders Awards.
They are also helping their teacher Maggie Green put together her application for the Apple Distinguished Educator’s Institute, and are also helping her practice her presentation on her students’ Genius Journals at the CESI conference this weekend.

Genius Journals are STEM Design Journals that Maggie designed that allow the children to explore ideas from conception to completion. The GJs teach them how to think by design and allow them to build, create and test. They are a great hit in the classroom!
Ms Green’s class have also been preparing a cover of Ed Sheeran’s song ‘Shape of You’.
They modified the lyrics to make it more educational and they are collaborating with two local musicians, Mark Ponsonby and Mirenda Rosenberg to bring the song to life.
This extremely talented class have also make a music video for the song!
Maggie says; “The video was shown at Teachmeet CESI and everyone really loved it!
“The children put so much work into this video. We integrated drama, music, art, SPHE, Learn Together and PE to create this video. We filmed everything on the iPad and we used Stopmotion, Timelapse, Garageband and lots of creativity!
“We are very grateful to Mirenda Rosenberg, Jonny, Mark Black and Sarah-Marie McDevitt for all of their help!
“I was really nervous getting up to present but so proud of the work that my class had put into their video!
“I am so lucky to work with such an inspirational group of children.
