Sharon Black of Letterkenny Athletic Club became the first Donegal woman to finish The Race, placing 25th in the exhausting endurance test.
The first woman across the finish line was Ballina native Rachel Nolan with a time of 18 hours and 3 minutes.
The Race is a gruelling endurance challenge in which participants must cover 250km over 24 hours.
Sharon completed the 64km running, 166km cycling, 5km of mountain running and 15km of kayaking in 18 hours 40 minutes.
Organised by Sand2Snow Adventures and Gartan Outdoor Education Center, The Race aims to provide the world’s number one endurance test.
Proceeds raised during The Race go towards Gorta Self-Help Africa who work in ten countries empowering rural communities and assisting them in food production and achieving economic independence.
No stranger to athletics, Sharon has previously taken part in the Paris marathon, Boston marathon, Derry marathon, Letterkenny duathlon, the Coastal Cancer Adventure Race but to name a few.
