Two models turned heads in Ardara this month as they took part in a fashion photoshoot on the main street.
Donegal model Sarah Kennedy and Belfast native Jake Woods were styled up as 70s rockers for a shoot ahead of the Homage Charity Fashion Show. The Rock n Roll themed event will take place in the iconic Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery in Co. Antrim. Homage will be held on the 4th of November and will be the first ever fashion show at the venue.
Cindy McKendry, the creative director of Homage Fashion decided to have the pre-shoot for the show in Donegal and present the theme of whiskey, rock n’ roll throughout with a 70s vibe.
Woodhill House, Nancy’s Bar and The Tavern were all used as locations for the shoot in Ardara.
Local beauty Sarah Kennedy was without her trademark red hair for the shoot – instead, she showcased dark locks and a boho bandana. Sarah has been the cover model for the past two years of this charity event.
Cindy is busy organising her third fashion show for this winter. Previous locations have included Crumlin Road Gaol and Barry’s Amusements Portrush. Each year, Cindy brings teams of creatives together for a common cause of raising money for charity and promoting Irish design. This year, designers from Belfast, Dublin and London will be bringing their collections to the North Coast.
The show is being held in tribute to celebrity host and co-organiser Sarah Traver’s father Ian who passed away three years ago from Dementia with Lewy Bodies.
All proceeds from the Homage show will be presented to Alzheimers Society, for whom Sarah is the charity ambassador.
The floor manager for Homage is the talented Stuart Cullen.
The full shoot will be released in April, but Donegal Woman has a sneak peek to share:
Homage looks set to be a rocking event, with The Undertones and Tim Wheeler from Ash playing live in the Old Bushmills Distillery. The lineup is expected to include more acts to be announced ahead of the show.
Tickets for Homage go on sale in June, follow the Facebook page for updates.
