Local celebrities Nan and Patricia Brennan, of Brennan’s Criterion Bar in Bundoran, have been chosen to feature in a new Hop House 13 ad series - no better women for the job!
The national advertising campaign from Guinness for Hop House 13 celebrates Ireland’s characterful places and the people behind them.
Bundoran’s Nan and Pat were the perfect pick from Donegal – the women behind the bar of Brennan’s have been at the heart of Bundoran life for decades. Brennan’s Bar opened its doors on St Patrick’s Day in 1900, and has since been a go-to destination for locals, tourists and surfers.
The sisters’ well-known faces and the inimitable atmosphere of their bar were selected as an ideal representative of Hop House 13 Lager – which is double hopped for more taste and more character.
The advert is part of a major media campaign which includes a roll out of TV commercials, cinema and outdoor advertisements, amplified through PR, experiential and social executions with a media value of more than €1.7m.
Speaking about Hop House 13, Marketing Manager, Diageo Europe, Dafydd Pugh Williams said “We were delighted to work with the Brennan sisters on the latest Hop House 13 media campaign which showcases some of the uniquely characterful bars, pubs and even barbers where you can enjoy a Hop House 13 lager.
“Hop House13 is double hopped for more taste and more character, as such we want to reflect the values of the brand by celebrating the outlets and people, like the Brennan’s, who behind them who have their own unique character; those places which are interesting and surprising, with owners who are bold enough not to follow trends but rather forge their own path creating a venue that people can’t wait to go back to, or take their mates to,” Williams added.
Nan and Pat’s ad is now live – keep your eyes peeled for Donegal’s most famous bartending sisters!
The creative campaign features a range of recognisable characterful places throughout Ireland including Brennan’s Criterion Bar in Bundoran, John Kavanagh’s in Glasnevin, McCarthy’s in Fethard and Sam’s Barbers in Dublin.
The new adverts all showcase Hop House 13 Lager, which was brewed for the first time two years ago in The Open Gate Brewery, at St. James’s Gate. Since its launch, the beer has proven to be one of the most successful Guinness innovation beers. With the backing of the respected Brennan’s, we can expect many more pints raised to celebrate their hard work behind the bar!
