Singer Chanele McGuinness provides the backing track to this sweet and emotional advert from Pampers to celebrate premature babies.
The Ballyshannon singer-songwriter sings a beautiful version of ‘Coming Home’ to mark the much-anticipated homecoming of babies who spent their first weeks in hospital wards.
Pampers have launched their smallest nappy ever, specially designed with neonatal (NICU) nurses to meet the specific needs of the smallest premature babies. The advert was filmed at Southampton Hospital’s neonatal unit, and features nine real families, their babies and the hospital staff.
The scenes capture the emotional ups and downs of having premature babies and raise awareness for the vital work of neo-natal staff. Chanele’s song provides a lullaby-like tone which perfectly suits the mood.
As part of the Pampers #PowerOfBabies campaign, they have partnered with Bliss (www.bliss.org.uk), the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature, to help support these little fighters and their families. The campaign celebrates all babies, especially the ones in neonatal units, and those who care for them.
The company are donating three million to neonatal units in the UK & Ireland to ensure all little fighters get the size P3 diaper, which is suitable for babies weighing as little as 500g and is three sizes smaller than a regular newborn nappy.
Pampers are inviting parents to celebrate the amazing fighting spirit that premature babies show every day by sharing pictures of children with a raised fist on social media. For every photo shared using #PowerOfBabies Pampers will donate £1 to Bliss.
The ad has moved many parents to tears as they remember their babies’ first days. Parents have shared photos of their children who were born prematurely and are now healthy and happy kids. They have also taken the opportunity to express their gratitude to neo-natal staff who helped them through worrisome times.
Chanele shared her admiration for the strength of little babies on social media – “Really proud to be singing on the beautiful new ad for #Pampers! Go little fighters! ❤”
