Irish singer and songwriter Imelda May joined the star studded panel on 'The Graham Norton Show' last night, and had everyone in stitches with her hilarious family holiday story.
May said that she might even write a book about her family as she has so many crazy stories about camping all over the globe with them.
She said that the seven of them piled into the Rover – and their dad would put up a giant orange tent that never looked how it was meant to in the picture, and her mum would bring a little camping stove.
One morning they were horrified when the police dragged their father out of the tent, as their mother shouted “get your hands off him”. The frightened children began to cry as their father roared “yous are very uptight altogether!”
The hilarity of the story was revealed when Imelda revealed where exactly they had been camping, saying “apparently you aren’t allowed to camp underneath the Eiffel Tower!”
Graham Norton said “I love this story – this is so Irish!”
We all have hilarious childhood family holiday stories – but I don’t think many Irish families have camped underneath the Eiffel Tower!
