The staff and children at Naomh Fiachra have done a phenomenal job re-designing their garden over the school year.
Thanks to their hard work, the garden is now completely transformed.
Hours upon hours were spent weeding, planting, trimming, and cleaning the entire courtyard.
They planted many beautiful flowers and put the finishing touches to it by places stones all around the pool area to make it look attractive to the many “minibeasts” who are now residents in the newly re-done garden.
The children were so delighted with their finished feature that they then went on to grow many different varieties of vegetables and fruit including; potatoes, leeks, cabbages, cauliflowers, carrots, red and white onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, scallions, rhubarb, strawberries and apples which will be ready in September.
They have done such a fantastic job that teachers and students were able to prepare a three course meal using the vegetables they grew in the garden!
Leek and potato soup, boiled cabbage with bacon and potatoes, and rhubarb tart were on the mouth watering menu.
Well done to all involved.
