Summertime! BBQ’s, weddings, long walks on the beach, and getting those feet out! We all love the thoughts of laying in the summer warmth, but what if you haven’t the pennys to get those feet in shape! Never fear! I’ve tried and tested some wonderful products for you that will have those claws of yours looking and feeling as soft as baby’s feet asap.

Dead Skin | This product is fuss free and fabulous for anyone preparing for a wedding or holiday in sandals! In one treatment, you apply and wear the socks for 60 minutes.  Within the following 7-10 days,  dead skin build up will begin to shed and reveal baby soft skin.

Great on cracked heals, and also for removing hardened skin. I personally love this as a nice DIY foot detox before I go on holidays. Nails | Another fabulous nail care tool but this one’s super quick!  With 3 simply steps and heads for filing, buffing and polishing your natural nails (hands and feet) this little electronic file trims and neatens your nails, whilst also buffing and polishing any ridges on the nails surface to enhance your nails natural colour and beauty. Feel free to add your favourite nail polish and off you trot in your favourite peep-toes.

Hardened Heels/Balls of Feet | I bought the first version of this a few years back and have since upgraded.

This is a must have for any girl who loves her high heels, and is very ‘lastminute.com’ like myself, never thinking to book a pedicure until it’s too late!  If you’re into sport or stand on your feet lots and find that you get a build up of harden skin on the heels and balls of your feet, then the exfoliation sock may not just cut it on area’s like these.  Reason being you have few layers of skin built up to cushion the feet through the abrasion of running and walking about lots.  This can become uncomfortable needing to be paired off.

With it’s rotating barrel and beautiful design, the foot file fits easily into your hand.  Gently move it around those problematic area’s and watch it remove layers softly yet efficiently in a few minutes!

The only advice I would give for using this tool, is to be aware and not over file as you can overdo it and leave your feet feeling tender or worse, even file too far and leave what’s like a carpet burn.  The first few times, simply gauge what suits you best. Use, then turn off and check your feet are to your desired softness – if not, simply switch on and repeat until you’re happy!

For years now, part of my daily routine, after my shower at night is to apply a nice intensive cream all over my body, but also follow this through to my feet and hands.

I have experienced cracked heels when I travelled – wearing flipflop styled shoes for a whole year with no support brought this whole episode on upon returning home to socks and boots! Once I had my feet back in good shape, I realised taking 10 extra seconds to pop some moisturiser on once a day made such a difference to my feet on a whole.

This is a super product and sinks in straight away for that wonderful toe-wiggling freedom whilst you walk bare footed!

Flexitol Heel Balm

For those of you that may suffer from terrible sore cracked heels, an intense moisturiser is needed and having Flexitol on hand in your bathroom cabinet, applying twice daily or more if need be will sooth and aid healing of this sore area.  A little greasy but it is a balm after all and the hardened, cracked skin on your feet will truly benefit from this product. A must-have for problematic crack heels!

Keeping your feet in good knick is a must – after all, they get us from A to B.  Even if you have a regular professional pedicure remember, you can DIY from time to time with the fantastic range of products on the market today. Simply pop on your favourite varnish thereafter, and off you go.
