She is a mum to three kids, and counts her own late mother as her style icon and her inspiration for setting up her store at www.stylishsparkles.com
Here is Lyndsy’s Style Study for Donegal Woman:
How would you describe your personal style?
I don’t have a particular style, I am just a lover of fashion and style.
I enjoy trying out new trends but making them work for my shape/figure. I do like something a little quirky to give a look that extra edge and I am really loving the vintage vibes and looks at the moment!

Who is your style icon?
To be honest my style icon was my beautiful Mum, she loved fashion and was such a stylish lady! She would always come shopping with me and help me pick out and style my clothes and accessories. I do follow Irish ladies Pippa O’Connor and Aoibin Garrihy at the moment as they wear a lot of trendy pieces that are at affordable prices on the High Street
What is your favourite piece of clothing?
My favourite item of clothing is my black leather skirt! It just goes with so much and can be styled lots of different ways! It can be dressed up or down!
What inspires you when choosing an outfit?
I like to go for something simple and love to add to it to make it look different by accessorising! I have always loved accessories and anything that sparkles so for me it’s in the detail! I decided to set up my own online store www.stylishsparkles.com because of my love for those little finishing touches that turn something plain and simple into something special!
How would you accessorise a look?
At the moment for me it’s all about the statement earrings, I love all the different colours and styles available especially the tassel earrings as they are so on trend and give that wow factor to any look! A necklace, earrings, scarf or handbag can complete any look!
What is your most recent fashion purchase?
My most recent fashion purchase is a designer dupe of the Chloe FAYE Handbag, it’s in a light grey colour and goes with everything! It will have to do until I can afford the real thing! I actually loved the quality of and at an affordable price also so I decided to stock it on Stylish Sparkles too!
Where do you usually shop for clothing?
I am a real high street girl and love H&M, New Look, Quiz, Penneys and I think the Dunnes Stores Savida range has some great on trend pieces at the moment too!
Do you have any favourite local fashion boutiques?
Lately I have been following Blush Boutique, Carndonagh on Instagram and love all their style and on trend fashion forward clothes. I recently purchased a gorgeous polka dot skirt from there and plan to style it lots of different ways!
What are your wardrobe staples?
My wardrobe staples are a good fitting pair of jeans, a white shirt, little black dress, a nice blazer or Mac and of course some bling accessories, like diamante or pearls to make any outfit pop!
Do you follow trends?
I do follow trends but rather than going all out on a look I like to add a little something that will last as fashion trends pass so quickly!
Heels or flats?
A girl needs her heels!! As I am a mammy its not always realistic and flats are sometimes the only option, but any chance I get to get dolled up the heels are out!
Shoes or handbags?
Arm Candy…..Handbags for me!! I do love shoes also of course but I am afraid I would need to start hiding my handbags before my husband sees me arriving with any more or I will be in trouble!
What is the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever heard?
You can never be overdressed or overeducated! 🙂
What do you think about the fashion scene in Donegal?
I am a proud Donegal Woman and think the fashion scene in Donegal is fantastic, there are a lot of stylish ladies of all ages out and about our wee county!
What has been your best investment piece?
I have a Black Kate Spade Mac and have to say it definitely is a classic quality piece of clothing that doesn’t go out of fashion.
What’s the wackiest item you own?
A black chiffon kimono with feather trim! It doesn’t see the light of day anymore thankfully!
If you could wear only one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love anything by designer brand Kate Spade so I would be happy to have a few more items in my closet and jewellery box!
What has been your biggest fashion faux-pas?
I once owned a pair of thigh high cream socks that were so on trend when I was a teenager, I actually used to wear them with a cream mini dress!!! They are long gone now! Ahhh I am sure my friends remember!
If money wasn’t a factor, what would you buy?
I would love a Chanel Bag to add to my collection
How do you feel when you’re in your favourite outfit?
I feel happy and confident when I am wearing my favourite outfit and ready to take on the world!
