The community of Annagry Co. Donegal came together on Sunday 16th July for a 'Big Boob Run' fun cycle around the Rosses.

Men and women donned pink clothes and underwear for this colourful event, which was organised to raise awareness of breast cancer self-checks and to raise money for a local fund.

An array of prizes were awarded for the best dressed and refreshments were provided by locals.

A local nurse gave an informative talk about breast cancer detection before everyone took to the roads.

Organiser Diane Robinson says the run was a very successful day:
“The sun shone and we had 155 cyclists register to ride; all age groups, men & women…some who hadn’t been on a bike in 35 years!
“We had 3 routes-70k for pros, 30k for others and a shorter route for the real beginners.
“We had lemonade stops, cupcake stops and many untimely stops in bushes and ditches!!!!
“We had prizes for Fastest Boobs, Best Bra, Beat Bike, Beat Dressed and plenty more.
“Colleen, our local nurse, gave a demo and talk on breast checks and their importance before the cycle, and we gave out shower cards and literature from various cancer societies.
“It turned into a great social event, with many people ‘rehydrating’ into the early hours in Sharkeys Bar.”
