The North West Women In Farming are hosting their first event for Farm Safety Week.
Donegal’s first female farming group will host a Farm Safety walk this Thursday evening to encourage people to think carefully about dangers on farms.
The first walk will begin on a farm in Donegal Town on Thursday July 27th at 7pm.
The walk is being facilitated by a representative from the HSA.
The North West Women in Farming group was founded this year to bring together a like minded community of women who are involved or interested in agriculture.
Committee member Hannah McNelis says the first gathering was a huge success, with 55 women in attendance and a top panel of speakers.
“Following feedback gathered from those attending, we could determine that farm safety was the most popular topic that group members wanted to see covered.
“To facilitate all members of the group we are running a number of walks around the county,” Hannah said.
Places on the walk are limited and can be booked by contacting Hannah on 087-7479068 or through our FB group North West Women in Farming.
“Arrangements for a second walk in Inishowen are currently being finalised and will be released in the coming days,” Hannah added.
