A new television series is setting out to find the next, newest and undiscovered Irish tourist attractions.

Think America’s Next Top Model – but for great destinations.

This TG4 series wants to discover Ireland’s next top tourist attraction. Surely we have more than a few in Donegal that are up for the job! You can nominate your most beloved spot for a chance to be showcased on the show.

Tourist attractions in Ireland come in all shapes and sizes. The recent rise to stardom of ‘The Wild Atlantic Way’ has proven that sometimes the most attractive things to tourists are right under our noses. All we need to do is uncover them and get the word out.

This unique tourist trail around Ireland will be led by two experts in the field and is all about giving communities a chance to focus on opportunities that are right in front of their eyes and discover the next tourist attractions in Ireland.

Over the 6 programmes the two experts will visit new tourist attractions that have yet to be highlighted on a national platform. They will be asking the individuals and communities behind these attractions to put their best foot forward and show what makes their project unique.

A spokesperson said: Have you set up a new tourism venture like a new food trail or a new adventure activity that you’d like for us to come and feature? Is there a natural geographical attraction in the area that has always been overlooked?

Are you doing something unique that should be bringing busloads of tourists to your town or village? Does your community commemorate an historical event that could be a new must see attraction? Is your locality connected to a global celebrity or political figure?

We are open to hearing about anything, from the ridiculous to the magnificent.

Our experts are looking to showcase the best of what Ireland has to offer its tourists. So, if you think your local tourist attraction can be the next Cliffs of Moher, Book of Kells or ancestral home worthy of a visit we want to hear from you. Are you near a Holy site that’s not on the tourist map? Do you have a perfect location for an extreme activity or an idea for a unique tourist experience?
