Ryan Tubridy has shared a touching tribute to the late Glen Campbell.
The legendary musician Glen Campbell passed away on Tuesday after a six year long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Despite being diagnosed in 2011, he continued to perform at the 2012 Grammy Awards ceremony and hosted a “Goodbye Tour” in the same year.
In 2014, he became a patient at an Alzheimer’s care home before sadly passing away three days ago.
Celebrities from across the globe have paid tribute to the multi-award winning artist, including his former partner Tanya Tucker who released a song titled “Forever Loving You” in his honour. A portion of the proceeds raised from the sale of the song is to benefit the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
RTÉ’s Ryan Tubridy shared a happy memory with the singer following his passing, posting a picture of himself (sporting an earring) and Michael Kealy meeting the American singer.
He captioned it “The night myself and Michael Kealy met and interviewed the late Glen Campbell at the National Concert Hall 457 years ago.
“Extraordinary singer of beautiful tunes.”
