A Letterkenny student who gained maximum points in her Leaving Certificate is taking a well-earned break from education for a year.
Coláiste Ailigh student Cáit Ní Mhórdha went to collect her results this morning and was thrilled to achieve a whopping 613 points.
She was one of 12 Coláiste Ailigh students to get in excess of 500 points.
Cáit, pictured above with her proud mum, Sheila, will now take a break to ponder her future, traveling to Hong Kong to spend time with family.
‘Cáit has always been an outstanding young lady and was this year’s senior student of the year,” said Coláiste Ailigh Principal Micheál Ó Giobúin.
“She was also our first student to achieve 10 A1’s in her Junior Certificate.
“Rather than begin College immediately, Cáit plans to take a year out and travel to Hong Kong where she will stay with a family member.
“I would like to congratulate herself and all the other Coláiste Ailigh students on their success in the Leaving Certificate and wish them the very best with their future careers.”
