Danielle McLaughlin's cousin Raymond Bryden is embarking on a remarkable three day Inca trail trek to Machu Picchu to raise vital funds needed for the legal fees relating to Danielle's case.
Joined by Kimberley Chu, all funds raised will go towards The Truth for Danielle McLaughlin Campaign.
Raymond has set a £2,000 goal for his fundraiser and is coming close to reaching his target with almost three-quarters of the sum raised.
28-year-old Buncrana woman Danielle was tragically murdered while traveling in Goa, India, during the Holi Festival on the 13th of March this year.
Raymond explained; “The fight for justice for my vibrant cousin will be a long and arduous one. The money that has previously been raised by The Truth for Danielle Campaign was very quickly used up securing legal teams both in India and Ireland.
“In doing this trek Kim and I hope to help raise funds and awareness to ensure that Danielle has the best possible representation ensuring justice is served.
“The Truth For Danielle Mc Laughlin campaign is to find out the TRUTH of what happened to a girl who touched the hearts of anyone she met. To help pay for legal fees so we can get closer to the truth we have set up this campaign.
“Our goal is for Danielle to still have a voice even though hers was cruelly taken from her.”
The eldest of six sisters, Raymond describes Danielle as a “cherished friend to all who crossed her path.”
Several events have taken place since her tragic passing, with the Buncrana community organising a Colour Run in July in memory of her and in aid of the Truth for Danielle McLaughlin Campaign.
In October, one of the UK’s leading psychics, Carol McGee, will make the journey to Buncrana to host a show to fundraise for the campaign.
