A family fun day has been planned for tomorrow to fundraise for the families of mother and daughter Margaret McGonigle (69) and Mairead Mundy (39), and close friend Racheal Cassidy Battles (37), who tragically died in July.
The women had been traveling home from Dublin airport following a dream holiday in Turkey when they were involved in a three-car road traffic collision in Louth at 1am.
The event will take place tomorrow at Bruckless Community Centre between 2pm and 6pm, with a whole host of activities on offer for everyone in the family.
St. Catherine’s Band will be in attendance, and live music will be played throughout the afternoon.
For the little ones there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, and we even hear that Mickey and Minnie Mouse will make an appearance!
Donegal rally champion Donagh Kelly’s rally car will be on display, and there will be a raffle to win a signed jersey from Killybegs native and football legend Seamie Coleman.
All funds collected will go towards supporting the women’s dependents.
Local TD Thomas Pringle says: ” If anybody is free this Sunday, make sure to call into this event.
“It’s lovely to see a community pull together to support both families.”
