Three Donegal venues have made a list of the top 100 places to party in Ireland.

A diverse mix of businesses were selected by The Irish Times to highlight great spots to gather with friends and mark special occasions.

Weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, anniversaries, Christmas parties and many more celebrations call for a special location, and this list counted an eclectic range of places to do so.

The Pop-Up Pub inflatable bars were listed under the category of undiscovered venues for hire. The business set up by Donegal woman Catriona Mulhern and her partner Paul has been popping up all over Ireland and the US.

The pubs are described as ‘bouncy castles for grown-ups’ that are delivered to your door with options including bar staff, beer kegs and pumps, caterers, DJs and even portable toilets.

Rathmullan House

Rathmullan House earned a top place in the category of Country Houses and Castles. The luxurious hotel and wedding venue on the shores of Lough Swilly is praised as a ‘wonderful winter party house’.

Irish Times writer Alanna Gallagher references Rathmullan House’s first-class food, warm welcome and its historical beachside location as top factors to choose the hotel as a special party setting.

The Beach House Buncrana

The Beach House Bar & Restaurant in Buncrana was counted among the top outdoors venues for events.

The award-winning restaurant at the Pier boasted locally sourced food and waterside views. It has hosted many parties over the years, but as of August 31st, The Beach House has closed.
