Here is Abby’s Style Study for Donegal Woman:
- How would you describe your personal style?
My style is always changing, depending on my mood. During the day I live in jeans and sweatshirts, but if I’m going out in the evening/night time, I have to be dressed up, which mostly results in a dress and heels.
- Who is your style icon?
I don’t actually have a style icon as such, my style is very versatile. If I see something I like, I get it but I wouldn’t say I base my whole style on one particular person. - What is your favourite piece of clothing?
My favourite piece of clothing would have to be my Zara skinny jeans, they’re so comfortable and I can dress them up or down. - What inspires you when choosing an outfit?
During the day, not much thought will go into my outfits. I take the weather into consideration, then base it around that. For an occasion or night out, I just love dressing up, so that goes without saying. I spend days looking at outfits, going through the shops and on different websites. If something really sticks out to me, I’ll get it. - How would you accessorise a look?
A lot of the time, I like to play down accessories, I like to wear statement outfits and I keep it pretty simple with the rest of the look. I love to wear statement earrings if my outfit is pretty simple, like these ones from H&M. Or else dress it up with a nice pair of heels! - What is your most recent fashion purchase?
My most recent purchase are these high waisted trousers from ‘isawitfirst.com’. I have a bit of a shopping problem, so I am constantly adding to my wardrobe. - Where do you usually shop for clothing?
This is going to be such a typical answer but I always shop in Penneys, river island, and Zara, and I do my online shopping on pretty little thing and misguided. - Do you have any favourite local fashion boutiques?
My favourite boutique would have to be Pure Boutique in Letterkenny. I have so many pieces from here. They most sell occasion wear. These are just a few outfits I have got in Pure. - What are your wardrobe staples?
My staples are definitely a pair of skinny jeans and a comfy sweatshirt. - Do you follow trends?
I would exactly call myself a ‘trend follower’ but I have to admit sometimes I do get influence from them. - Heels or flats?
During the day, flats. If I’m going out or going to something in the evening, it has to be heels! - Shoes or handbags?
Shoes 100%!! - What is the best piece of fashion advice you’ve ever heard?
Definitely, the best piece of advice I’ve had is to wear what I want. I don’t listen to other people and I don’t dress to impress anybody, I wear what I like to wear! - What do you think of the fashion scene in Donegal?
I think I’m the last few years, the fashion in Donegal has improved majorly, I think this is down to more fashion influencers and bloggers, and with shops like Penneys, fashion can be affordable! - What has been your best investment piece?
My best investment is definitely my Michael Kors jacket. It’s so warm and I get so much wear out of it in the winter months. - What’s the wackiest item you own?
My bright yellow flared trousers. Although I love them, they’re very out there. - If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’m struggling to answer this one, because at home I live in my pyjamas, but when I go out, I love to dress up. I think it would have to be pyjamas! - What has been your biggest fashion faux-pas?
I think it would have to be wearing clothes that didn’t actually suit my shape, just because I liked how the clothes looked or they were ‘trendy’. - If money wasn’t a factor, what would you buy?
Gucci. Everything Gucci. - How do you feel when you’re in your favourite outfit?
When I’m wearing something that I really like, I feel confident, happy and comfortable in myself.
