Donegal's golden ticket has finally been claimed, the National Lottery confirmed today. 

The mega jackpot of €4,434,994 was won in the north west on Saturday 13th January 2018.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at Daly’s Topaz on the Letterkenny Road in Lifford. A huge degree of curiosity surrounded the store as everyone wondered who the winner would be and – if they would ever come forward.

A National Lottery spokesperson announced today that the ticket has finally been claimed: “We can confirm that we have been contacted by the ticketholder and arrangements are being made for the claim to be made.”

Someone is starting the New Year with a massive money boost – but whether they choose to reveal their identity is yet to be announced.
