Emmet Rushe shares the truth about quick-fix fat loss products, and it might come as a shock.
January may be over, but It seems as if you cannot turn on your computer, phone, TV or radio, without being met with some form of advertisement for “Fat Loss Supplements”
Drinks, pills, wraps, gels, freezing, the list goes on and on and each one of them will tell you that ‘all you have to do’ is use their product and you will lose X amount of fat in X amount of time.
The number of these products that will help you to lose weight and keep it off are approximately zero.
That may seem like a bold statement, but after training thousands of clients over the past 7 years, one thing is guaranteed, NONE of these products will help you to keep weight off long term.
With most of these miracle cures, you will have the local beautician, spa, teacher, ‘working mum’, secretary, pharmacy, trying to get you to buy their product to ‘help’ you to lose fat.
I will say this again, just for those in the back that may have missed it.
NONE OF THESE PRODUCTS WILL EVER HELP YOU TO LOSE FAT PERMANENTLY.
None.
They are all gimmicks and you will waste your money, AGAIN, to lose weight, only to put more back on again.
Why do they help with weight loss?
Because they tell you to either, NOT EAT, or to eat VERY LITTLE food along with their products.
Then you magically lose weight because of their ‘product’.
NO YOU DON’T.
You lose weight, because;
- You aren’t EATING ENOUGH FOOD.
- You are probably taking a pill or tea or coffee with laxatives in them
- Your diet consists of one meal and 2 shakes per day
Are you really going to say that the product was the reason for the weight loss, when you have cut your food intake down to the bare minimum?
You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did.
Not eating food and taking snake-oil products works for weight loss, but not for the reasons you believe it does.
Not because of the overpriced products or therapies. But because of the ridiculous things you have to do along with these to get results.
Guess what else works.
Eating a balanced diet.
Exercise.
Staying hydrated.
Having some patience.
The last one is the most important.
Patience is indeed a virtue and something that we could do with having more of.
The reason you turn to these products is because they promise weight loss fast, with very little work involved. Unfortunately, that is a road to disaster.
You didn’t put the weight on over a 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12 week period, so don’t expect it to come off in a healthy manner in this time.
Can you lose a large amount of weight in a short period of time?
Absolutely.
But the chances of you keeping this off are lower and the chances of you gaining more weight back on again are higher.
You will also look physically worse, the more often you do these and you are making it harder for yourself to lose body-fat in a healthy manner in the long run.
Listen, I get it. The quick fix is appealing and the thought of losing weight without having to diet or exercise sounds great.
- But it isn’t real.
- Whatever slim results you may get won’t last.
- It is more than likely a scam.
- The only thing that will be lighter in the long term is your purse and bank account
As I have stated above, if you really want long-term weight loss.
Eat a balanced diet.
Exercise.
Staying hydrated.
Having some patience.
You don’t need to do more than that and you will be glad that you did in the long term.
