We're dreaming of sophisticated and stylish Dublin trips here already!
Hats off to the McGill family from Glenties, who have just opened Europe’s first sustainable hotel in the heart of Dublin.
The 4* Iveagh Garden Hotel, on the ever-exciting Harcourt Street, has opened this month as a 152-bed marvel.
The hotel harnesses energy from onsite turbines and the underground river Swan to cool and heat the €40m property.
Hoteliers Brian and Sally McGill opened the property this month to cater to the professional sector, with the creation of 150 jobs. The McGill family siblings are spearheading the development, who are all actively involved in the management of the sister hotels, Harcourt Hotel and Harrington Hal, as well as the Black Door and DTwo nightclubs.
The four story renovated Georgian building beautifully blends contemporary styling with original features for a stylish getaway.
The hotel bar, Elle’s, will serve a seasonal menu designed by head chef Darren O’Brien, featuring local Irish produce.
A second bar and eatery is planned for the basement in mid-2018. There will also be a 300-capacity function room to cater for corporate events, weddings, and other social occasions.
It’s a short walk from St. Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street, the Gaiety Theatre, and all of Dublin’s hotspots.
The exquisite rooms range from deluxe bedrooms to premium suites with balconies overlooking the historic Iveagh Gardens. With room prices ranging from €159-€299 per night, it’s another great stylish selection for Donegal visitors to the capital.
