First Jamie Dornan and now Maisie Williams - Donegal is becoming a celebrity hotspot this summer.
Both actors have been spotted at the luxury Shandon Hotel on separate trips to enjoy some downtime in the northwest.
It has been revealed that the Game of Thrones star Maisie (21) took a short staycation at the luxury hotel outside Dunfanaghy this weekend during a break from filming the final series of the HBO show.
Maisie and partner Ollie Jackson joined British and American guests in handing over their mobile phones for the duration of their stay for the Shandon’s Digital Separation – Couple Connection break.
Sources say that Maisie, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, spent the digital detox holiday enjoying the luxurious surroundings of the Shandon hotel which overlooks Marble Hill beach near Dunfanaghy. She and Ollie were able to take in that view from the outdoor Canadian Hot Tub at the hotel’s luxury spa before taking a stroll along the strand.
Maisie and Ollie reportedly dined at the hotel’s modern French restaurant before enjoying cocktails on the terrace.
The Digital Separation holidays offered at the hotel means guests must hand over phones and other gadgets at check-in. They even have to sign a contract saying they won’t ask for them back until check-out.
It was only yesterday that Maisie’s Instagram followers got a glimpse into her trip activities, as she got her phone back to film some adventures in Glenveagh. The national park even features its own castle that would fit in very well in Game of Thrones.
English actress Maisie, who spends so much time in Ireland filming, has even admitted she is considering buying a house here.
Maisie’s visit to Donegal comes just days after ‘Fifty Shades’ actor Jamie Dornan spent a family holiday at the same hotel on the Wild Atlantic Way with his actress wife Amelia and their two daughters.
This series of high-profile visits show there’s definitely something special about the tranquil Sheephaven Bay resort – but we already knew that!
