Sisters on the TV screen, one could describe actresses Máirín and Brídín as soul sisters in reality.
They have grown up together in the Donegal Gaeltacht, attended school together and were friends from a very young age from where their passion for acting and the Irish language grew. Both went to college, Máirin / Dee to Trinity College Dublin and Brídín / Katy to NUIG.
Both continued their passion for acting which ultimately led the Donegal soul sisters to set of Ireland’s only rural and Irish Language soap opera Ros na Rún in the Connemara Coastal Gaeltacht Village of Spiddal.
Season 22 has seen many of Ros na Rún’s most challenging story lines in the history of the TG4 soap, including rogue Tadhg O Direáin’s shocking discovery that his beloved Maggie was actually his sister.
On a more positive note Vince successfully opened his Siopa XL and welcomed star Daniel O’Donnell to the official opening. Bobbi Lee missed her chance to duet with Daniel O’Donnell but her dreams of stardom now appear to have resorted to a potential romance or affair with Niall.
Script Writers at Ireland’s only rural and Irish language based soap opera are busy creating dramatic, comic and impactful story lines centred on the reality of Ireland’s rural communities today for seasons 23 and 24.
Filming of season 23 will commence at the Connemara Gaeltacht based TV set in early August 2018 with the show returning to TV screens in September.
