Downings woman Sarah Carr has won an elemental title in the Miss Earth NI 2018 pageant.

Sarah Carr picked up not one, but four special awards at Saturday’s Miss Earth Northern Ireland final in Derry.

The 24-year-old scooped the title of ‘Miss Water 2018’ along with awards for Eco Ambassador 2018, Best in Interview and Miss Congeniality.

Miss Earth is a ‘Beauties for a Cause’ pageant which celebrates young women who volunteer in their communities to promote environmental awareness.

Sarah won the ‘Eco Warrior’ title in Miss Earth NI 2017. This year, with a focus on Marine Conservation and plastic reduction, she was selected as the Eco Ambassador Awardee for all her hard-work organising over 45 eco-activities in the lead up to the final.

Several Donegal women took part in this year’s competition. The overall Miss Earth NI titles was won by Christie Van Schwaylk.
