There was no need for Monday motivation for a lucky Donegal National Lottery player who today popped into Lotto HQ to claim a cool €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize.
The delighted winner picked up his prize as Tuesday’s EuroMillions Jackpot is set to roll to a mind-blowing €90 million, one of the highest of the year.
The Donegal winner was joined in the National Lottery winners’ room with his family to collect his cheque for a half million euro after he became the 19th EuroMillions Plus winner in Ireland so far this year.
He purchased his lucky ticket for last Tuesday’s draw at McGettigan’s Applegreen Service Station, in Lifford, Co. Donegal.
The winner said: “We couldn’t wait to get up to Dublin to finally hand over the winning ticket! I’d heard about the win locally on Wednesday morning so I scanne my ticket and couldn’t believe it when I realised I was holding a winner. It’s an incredible amount of money and I’m looking forward to the freedom it will bring me and my family.”

Also today, the National Lottery has issued an appeal for all Lotto players in Co. Donegal to check their tickets as the deadline for a €30,094 prize, won on June 9th expires on Friday 7th September.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Byrne’s Foodstore in Kilcar in Co. Donegal.
The winning Lotto numbers for the draw on Saturday 9th June were:
11, 12, 19, 27, 30, 38 and the Bonus 16.
Meanwhile, a National Lottery spokesperson said excitement is mounting as the EuroMillions jackpot is heading to a massive €90 million.
“This is one of the biggest EuroMillions rolls of the year and we are hoping it will be a case of the luck of the Irish tomorrow! With many people on holidays and out of routine we are reminding them that as well as in-store they can play anywhere in Ireland online or through the National Lottery App.”
