Our favourite girls are back in town, so they are.
Some very well-known characters have been spotted around Derry this week as filming begins on series two of Derry Girls.
The cast, crew and series writer Lisa McGee arrived in the city on Tuesday night.
And they’re all buzzing to be back, according to social media.

Lisa McGee Tweeted: “#DerryGirls are buzzing about coming home to film this week. “Thank you everyone for your cooperation. It’s gonna be a busy, busy few days but bring it on! #Derry.”
Parts of Derry have been going back in time to be transformed into backdrops for the 1990s-set show. There has been much excitement as locals report sightings of the characters in costume.
The cast and crew were spotted filming scenes in Bogside yesterday. Props were spotted in front of a corner shop and Christmas decorations were placed around the Free Derry Corner, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
Filming moves to the city centre and the Guildhall today (Thursday) and Friday, where road closures are in place at Shipquay Street and Shipquay Place.
Derry Girls fans don’t have too long to wait to see Erin, Michelle, Clare, Orla and the Wee English Fella back on our screens. The second season is expected to air on C4 in Spring 2019.
The storylines are kept closely under wraps, but writer Lisa McGee has previously said the underlying story will be the ceasefire and the local impact.
