A striking young man from West Donegal is rocking the catwalks of Paris as a rising star of the fashion world.
Ferdia Gallagher, 19, is living a Parisian lifestyle that’s far from his rural Gaeltacht hometown.
Men’s Fashion Week in the French capital has seen Ferdia walking for fashion label Céline and turning heads with his unique look and radiant red hair.
The blue-eyed boy, who stands at 6’2, has been named as one of the Top 10 ‘breakout boys’ of Men’s Fashion Week by i-D Vice.
Fame is in his blood too, as he is the son of Goat’s Don’t Shave musician Pat Gallagher.
Ferdia is signed to Bananas Models, has modelled for top international brands and graced the pages of magazines including NYLON.
i-D Vice has heralded a big future for Ferdia, saying: “Ferdia Gallagher is a Donegal boy by blood: 19 years of age with a flash of violent ginger hair and a sullen, sharp jawline that could slice every one of your fingers off. It’s no surprise that Hedi Slimane chose to debut his first standalone menswear collection with this kid at the forefront.”

Ferdia’s appearance on Hedi Slimane’s Celine catwalk has intrigued casting directors, according to the site:
“Already a big deal on Instagram, where he boasts a cool 13k followers, he spent the last six months working in his aunt’s paper shop in Ireland. Now he’s one of the most talked about kids of the high fashion circuit.”
