The folks at Donegal Airport are on a high after scooping the award of the World’s Most Scenic Airport for 2019.

PrivateFly has today announced that the coastal runway at Carrickfinn is the most beautiful on the planet – again!

This is the second year in a row that Donegal Airport has taken off with the title, as voted for by travellers all over the globe.

In praise of Carrickfinn, a voter said: “The view is spectacular! Mountains on one side and a beautiful rugged coastline dotted with islands and golden sandy beaches running adjacent to the runway.”

Donegal Airport had tough competition in the PrivateFly poll, but dream locations such as Nice in France, Orlando in Florida and Queenstown in New Zealand were no match for the beach beauty spot in West Donegal.

The award cements Donegal’s place on bucket lists of many world travellers, who dream of seeing the view for themselves as they touch down in the Coolest Place on the Planet.
