Early bird tickets are out this weekend!
It has been a busy year for Donegal Women in Business Network celebrating their 20th anniversary.
Going strong since 1999, this celebratory year for the Network has been one of connections, networking, collaborating and celebrating all women in business in the county throughout the decades.
The highlight of their year has just been launched:
Looking Back, Moving Forward Conference
Tuesday, 1st October at Lough Eske Castle, Donegal Town
10am to 4pm
Tickets on sale from 29th July
This one-day conference, supported by Donegal Local Enterprise Office, and part of the Donegal Connect initiative, has been designed to celebrate women in business in the county from all levels and sectors.
Not just for the self-employed, the event welcomes everyone in the community who wants to network, connect, grow and gain knowledge and inspiration throughout the event.
The line-up of accomplished keynote and panel speakers (all Donegal-based) have been chosen from throughout the county to relate to you and your business, regardless of what sector or level you are it. Whether you run the business from your kitchen table, or a suite of offices and company boardroom or you are just at the #IhaveanIdea stage, this event celebrates you all.
MC on the day is a local Donegal celebrity and businesswoman Ciara Doherty, who is the co-anchor on Ireland AM on Virgin Media One, Ireland’s number one breakfast show.
Evelyn Mc Glynn, Public Relations Officer for the Network, told us: “When planning the list of speakers for the event we wanted to make sure that their experiences and stories were relevant to our members who will be attending on the day. Issues like ‘fear of failure’, balancing personal and work life, funding, childcare, gender balance, inadequate supports, as well as general day-to-day concerns that women in business have, will all be covered.
“Our speakers and panelists on the day will answer the key questions often asked within the business community: ‘How did they do that?’ ‘How can I bring this learning and knowledge back to my business?’ ‘How did they get their funding?’ ‘Overseas markets and export – where do I start?’ ‘e-commerce – what do I need to know?’ ‘What training and supports are available in the county?’ How can I stay positive and motivated? ’
“We will also discuss marketing – from local to global, and everything in between.
“In business we learn through the stories and advice of others. When we see a company grow on a global scale, or win an outstanding award in their industry, we often find ourselves thinking – how did they manage that?
“On a more local scale, we wonder where we should go for the best advice and how much business x paid for the amazing logo that they just launched on Instagram. Which social media and marketing should I use to promote my business online paid or unpaid? What tops tips can I learn to take away to add value and scale my business?”
Find out all these answers and more on 1st October.
So why should you take a day away from your business to attend Looking Back, Moving Forward Conference 2019?
You need to be there to network, find customers, ask questions, feel inspired, learn, regain focus and realise that everyone feels like you do and that everyone in business has the same concerns and issues.
There will be over 150 supportive business people in the room willing you on, who will be interested in your business, idea or story to help you grow, while celebrating this tremendous 20th anniversary for women in business in the county.
Donegal Women in Business Network conference tickets are on sale from 29th July through Eventbrite at the early bird reduced rate of €60.
