Two local designers won runner-up prizes at the prestigious event.
Three creative entrepreneurs from Donegal were counted among Ireland’s top designers today at the Irish Made Awards Ceremony.
Fashion designer Bernie Murphy from Buncrana, homewear designer Eilis Galbraith from Buncrana, and handbag creator Valerie Taylor from Kilmacrennan were in the running for awards in three categories in the event run by Irish Country Magazine.
There were celebrations this afternoon for Bernie, who came runner-up in the Fashion category, and for Eilis, who was runner-up in Home.
To be shortlisted among the best up and coming talent in the design and craft industry is a valuable accolade for all three makers.
The Irish Made Awards were celebrated in an intimate prize-giving ceremony in Dublin for the first time this year. Now in their third year, the initiative highlights the trailblazers in the creative indsutry and winners earn a feature in an upcoming special issue of Irish Country Magazine.
