A very special children’s sleepover will be taking place in Ballybofey this November in aid of a popular local mum.
A Teepee Party, organised by Mama Bear Parties, will be held in Jackson’s Hotel on 1st November for the Sonya’s Struggle campaign. With 12 magical teepees for children to share with a mum or dad, granny, auntie or any other relative, the exclusive night promises to be the best sleepover ever for the mid-term holidays.
Bidding is taking place daily for people to book their place, with proceeds going towards Sonya Hamilton Mc Closkey. Sonya, a mum of five based in Ballybofey, is currently facing a difficult cancer battle and receiving specialist treatment in Germany.
Sonya’s story has touched many hearts and inspired many groups to fundraise for her. One such person is Mariea Doherty-Mc Ginty of Mama Bear Parties, who runs sleepover hire parties.
Mariea came up with the idea of hosting a teepee party with a difference, where each sleeping space is auctioned off for Sonya.
For 12 days leading up to the event, an auction has taken place on the Mama Bear Parties Facebook page. One space has been sold per day starting at 12pm ending at 12am.
Bids start at €50 and the highest bidder wins the teepee and the opportunity to spend the night as a VIP with their child.
Six spaces are already sold, but anyone interested in joining this special celebration can enter the auctions.
Lucky guests will be treated to a disco, karaoke, drama, jewellery making, cupcakes, storytelling and a photographer to capture the unforgettable moments.
