Cream horns have got to be on the menu!
If you’re planning a Derry Girls binge on Netflix this Christmas, then there’s another programme to add to your list in January 2020.
Fans of the C4 comedy can start their New Year with some extra laughter when the Derry Girls cast appear on The Great British Bake Off.
This January 1st, the actors who play our favourite girls, the wee English fella and Sister Michael are all competing in the iconic bake off tent to be crowned star baker.
Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), Claire (Nicola Coughlan), James (Dylan Llewellyn), and Sister Michael (Siobhan McSweeney) are all in the line-up for the festive special.
They’ll be baking up some New Year’s inspired treats, and it’s been said that some of them really get into the Christmas spirit with some extra… spirit in the trifle. Slainte!
According to the Belfast Telegraph, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith said the Derry Girls’ talents might just lie in comedy and acting.
“I think they’re better at comedy than baking, let’s put it like that. But it’s much more fun when they can’t bake,” Prue said.
Paul added: “They weren’t the best bakers we have had in the tent, but they were very entertaining and noisy.”
No time has been officially announced for the Bake Off on C4 on January 1st – so keep an eye on the TV guides.
