Buncrana beauty queen Grainne Gallanagh will be bringing plenty of glitz and glamour to the new series of Dancing with the Stars Ireland as it kicks off tonight.
The 25-year-old nurse and model will be flying the flag for Donegal when she swaps the catwalk for the dancefloor in the opening episode on RTE One at 6.30pm.
Having reached the top 20 of the Miss Universe final last year, Grainne promises to bring her competitive edge to the reality show.
And she has been putting her best foot forward in rehearsals with partner Kai Widdrington.
While Sunday’s episode will be gentlemen first, all the celebrities will be appearing in group dance sequences.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Grainne said: “I am delighted to be a part of the show, I’m so, so happy to be here.
She has already had a taste of the glitz and glamour with photoshoots and rehearsals, but the Donegal woman said she couldn’t wait for the live shows to begin.
“I am nervous though about picking up the dances quick enough but I’m going to try my absolute best and bring in my competitive spirit while enjoying the experience overall,” Grainne said.
Grainne, who had been based in London as a women’s health nurse, will have a huge support team from home cheering her and Kai on as they take on the weekly dance challenges.
Dancing with the Stars Ireland was one of RTE’s highest-rated series last year, and it is expected to be just as exciting and glamorous again in 2020.
