The dancefloor is calling for Buncrana beauty queen Grainne Gallanagh as she performs her first dance on RTÉ One’s Dancing with the Stars this Sunday.
The talented Donegal woman is “flat out” with rehearsals this week in preparation for her first time in front of the judges.
It’s Girls Night this Sunday and Grainne and her dance partner Kai Widdrington will be dancing to Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
After the men impressed on the floor last week, Grainne is working hard so her dance will make an impact.
Speaking in a behind the scenes interview with James Patrice, Grainne said: “The guys were amazing and it kind of set the bar for us.”
While her nerves are growing as the weekend approaches, Grainne said that looking the part has already helped her to feel like a pro.
“I think when you’ve got your hair, your makeup, your costume, your tan it makes you look like a dancer and that makes you feel more like a dancer. I do think it helps you hype it up a little bit,” she said.
This may be the start of Grainne’s televised dances, but her DWTSIrl journey began months ago back in 2019.
Now, she says she can’t wait to get out and dance this Sunday:
“I can’t wait to just get out and just get it done and actually feel like ‘oh my God I did it justice’, fingers crossed.”
Good luck Grainne! Dancing with the Stars airs on RTE ONE Sunday 12th January at 6.30pm
