Derry Girls fans are buzzing today with the news that an official book is on the way this Christmas.
Details have been revealed for ‘Erin’s Diary’ – which is set to be the perfect accompaniment to the award-winning C4 comedy series.
Production on the third series of Derry Girls has been paused due to Covid-19, but this release should fill the void nicely.
The book, written by show creator Lisa McGee, delves into young Erin’s own troubles of growing up in Derry in the 90s. Fans will get to experience another hilarious take on Derry life and 90s nostalgia, with all the wit we love from Erin and her family and friends.
“With Erin’s inner take on everything that has happened so far, this book will both dive deeper into the events we have seen unfold on the screen and unveil brand new stories and never-before-revealed details about characters,” the preview said.
“Complete with newspaper clippings, doodles, poetry, school reports, handwritten notes from her friends, and much much more, Erin’s Diary is as warm, funny and brilliantly observed as the TV; a must-have for fans this Christmas.”
Actress Saoirse-Monica Jackson stepped back into the role of Erin for this introduction to her diary:
Erin’s Diary will be published on 12 November 2020, priced at €16.99 on Easons.com
