Gardaí are hunting a taxi driver after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Inishowen last week.
The woman was allegedly attacked by the taxi driver in Buncrana after a night out in Derry.
The victim and a friend had enjoyed a night out in Derry and had hailed a taxi about 1.30am on Saturday morning in the Market Street area of the city.
The taxi driver left off the first woman and then drove the second woman to the Sruthan area of the town.
However, when the woman was getting out of the taxi, the driver sexually assaulted her.
The taxi is described as a silver, people-carrier type car with sliding doors.
No description of the taxi driver has been given.
Garda Sergeant Paul Wallace appealed to anybody who may have witnessed the taxi in the Buncrana area on Saturday morning to contact them.
He said: “We are trying to trace this man and the car but we do not have a great description.
“It was certainly a silver, people carrier-type vehicle and it was a taxi.
“The women were picked up in Market Street in Derry and taken to Buncrana where the first woman dropped off.
“The second woman was taken to her home and dropped off but was sexually assaulted by the driver when getting out of the taxi.
“We have an injured party and anybody who has information on this incident or sightings of this taxi should contact Gardai in Buncrana.”
