Donegal's five-star Lough Eske Castle has won the award for number two best hotel in Ireland 2020.
The prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards have just been announced, with Lough Eske Castle being the only hotel in Donegal to make it to Ireland’s Top 10 list.
Located outside Donegal Town on the shores of Lough Eske, this stylish hotel is set in a historic castle dating to the 15th century.
With a score of 99.22 from Condé Nast readers, during a year with limited travel, the high ranking proves that Lough Eske Castle has remained in guests’ high regard long after they’ve checked out.
The lavish interiors, informal atmosphere, friendly staff, large cozy rooms and the atmospheric Gallery Bar are among the hotel’s highlights referenced by Condé Nast Traveler.
Lough Eske Castle earned a Top 3 place in the awards in 2019, but this year’s No. 2 ranking is sure to be a boost for the team. The Westbury Hotel in Dublin topped the list for 2020, with more than 700,000 readers submitting ratings across the globe to determine the results.
Commenting on the award, the Lough Eske Castle team took to Facebook to thank customers: “The team at Lough Eske Castle are delighted to have been voted number 2 best hotel in Ireland in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2020. On behalf of all the team, thank you so much for your continued support.”
Lough Eske Castle currently remains open to residents under Level 3 guidelines.
