Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she is missing her holiday home in Co. Donegal.
The Sex and the City star gave fans a rare insight into family breaks in Ireland over the years as she marked her son James’ 18th birthday.
Parker took a trip down memory lane on Instagram yesterday, sharing scenic snaps from the south Donegal coast as she posted a heartfelt tribute to her eldest son.
Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have a special place in their hearts for Donegal, where they own a holiday home in Kilcar. The family often take breaks from their New York City life to enjoy the peacefulness of Donegal, but travel restrictions have prevented them from making the trip across the Atlantic this year.
“We miss those hills!,” Parker wrote in response to a friend on Instagram who said: “Nothing beats the fresh air in the hills of Donegal.”
Parker told another follower that Donegal often features in her family’s treasured memories:
“It’s always making an appearance in our memories! Donegal, much missed! X,” she wrote.
Responding to another message from a Killybegs local, Parker said she hopes they can return to Donegal soon:
“We miss Kilcar, Killybegs and all our friends. Stay safe and hope to see you soon! X”
Parker shared a poetic happy birthday wish for James on her Instagram page, which has over 6million followers.
“My beloved son, James Wilkie, On this day, you are 18 years old,” SJP’s message began.
“My love for you is an ache and an honor. As you leap toward and into your future, I remain your privileged and steadfast confident and joyful witness to the year ahead.”
“Happy birthday my first time voter,” she added. “I love you so. X, Mama.”
