A young Donegal woman has been published in a new book on pageant queens from around the world.
Sarah Carr from Downings, who is a keen environmentalist, represented Ireland in ‘Miss Earth’ in 2018. She competed against 90 other contestants in the international final in the Philippines.
Sarah’s “experience of a lifetime” is the basis of her contribution to ‘Confessions of a Pageant Queen’ a new book out this month.
Written by Adrian Kwan of ‘The Pageant Project’ the book features 160 women from 12 counties across two volumes. Mental health and tips for success are key topics across the book, Sarah tells Donegal Woman.
“I am so grateful to have been given this amazing opportunity, to be able to share my pageant experience/tips and tricks is an absolute honour,” Sarah said.
“I want to say a big thank you to Adrian and Co for publishing me in the book. You have worked so hard to make this happen for each and every one of us.”
Sarah added: “2020 was a difficult year for everyone, people’s mental health has really suffered. Confessions of a Pageant Queen have teamed up with “Truthmap Hologram” this is an app specially for women’s mental health. Each person who purchases a copy of the book will receive a full months membership to this app.
“Now more than ever mental health is so important. We need to be there for the ones we love. Check in with a phone call every day, and if you are feeling down talk to someone. A problem shared is a problem halved. This app could save your life. Or that of a loved one.”
