This years’ #LoveDonegal day will take place on Wednesday the 18th August. This is the third year of the campaign which aims to promote Donegal to as many people as we can across the globe and tell them why Donegal is the amazing place to live, work, study, explore and invest in!
The campaign, which is being co-ordinated by Donegal County Council with contributors not only from Donegal but from across the world, was a huge success over the last two years reaching millions of people with #LoveDonegal hashtag trending throughout the day.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr. Jack Murray is asking Donegal people everywhere to participate in this campaign saying “I would call on the people of Donegal near and far to show their appreciation for our magnificent county on August 18th and share a picture of what Donegal means to you.”
“One of the main aims of this campaign is to spread the word to our diaspora and their networks about the many opportunities readily available in Donegal. Ultimately, we want more people to visit, invest and relocate to Donegal highlighting the benefits we have with our growing local economy and superb quality of life.”
Garry Martin, Director of Economic Development with Donegal County Council explains that this campaign is a key part of the new Donegal place branding initiative that was launched earlier this year and which aims to present a compelling proposition for the county.
“#LoveDonegal day is an important event in the calendar for the region as it gives everyone with a connection to Donegal an opportunity to enjoy, celebrate and love Donegal. We can share what makes Donegal special to us with families and friends in other regions throughout the globe (our world-wide Donegal family) and promote the county, and it’s amazing offering, to the widest possible global audience,” Mr Martin said.
Organisers of this years’ event are encouraging everyone to take part in the day and share why Donegal is so special and meaningful to you.
