Local engaged couples have a chance to win a wedding worth €16,000 at the Shandon Hotel & Spa.
There was big excitement at the weekend as a new wedding website was launched by Donegal Media Works.
Savethedateweddings.ie went ‘live’ last Friday night and to celebrate the launch they also released a link on their website that offered engaged couples the chance to ‘Win a Dream Wedding’ at the Shandon Hotel & Spa for 100 guests worth €16,000!
Donegal Media Works, the company behind the new website also publish the Leader newspaper, Save The Date Wedding Magazine, Homes of Donegal Magazine and they also stage wedding fayres and entertainment events.
Like a lot of other Donegal businesses they were hit hard over the last 18 months and decided to go digital with the creation of the new website which has been 14 months in the making.
The launch last Friday coincided with the good news that restrictions in the wedding industry were finally being lifted. Weddings with up to 100 guests allowed since August and the long awaited news that live music and dancing will now be permitted was great news for all within the industry.
The new website is not only a wedding blog packed with inspiration for potential new bride and grooms but is also a wedding directory connecting local couples with all nearby wedding suppliers.
Lisa Murray from Donegal Media Works explains why it’s a bit different: “For local couples looking to plan a wedding we always felt that it was quite difficult to find local wedding suppliers online all in the one place. You always had to search numerous national websites to dig out local suppliers near you in Donegal. The thinking behind the new website was to put all the local wedding suppliers and vendors under the ‘one roof’ one website for the first time ever locally to make it easy for couples to connect directly with suppliers in their local catchment areas.”
The new website has 140+ wedding listings already and this is growing daily and soon they hope to increase the reach to not only Donegal, but Derry, Tyrone & Sligo. The blog is packed with expert advice from local wedding industry influencers and features ‘Real Wedding’ photographs from local couples plus the best advice available from local people with the wedding know-how. So, for local couples this is a great new tool to help organise upcoming weddings and gives them the ability for the first time to connect directly with the local wedding community all under one website.
Lisa added, “The ‘Win A Dream Wedding’ competition only opened last Friday at 7pm online and already there have been loads of entries from local engaged couples. We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the main sponsor, The Shandon Hotel & Spa along with all the other local suppliers who have helped create the sizeable prize that one lucky couple will win.”
So, if you are engaged or thinking about getting married go online to www.savethedateweddings.ie and you will find the link to enter the competition. You can also browse and register with the new website which is a free to join.
