The Donegal Women in Business Network is delighted to introduced its new network facilitator – Caitriona Sinnott.

Caitriona Sinnott and has over 20 years’ experience working predominantly in the business sector. During this time, she has held operational and managerial roles in such diverse areas as HR, retail banking, risk and compliance management and most recently worked in the not-for-profit sector.

Caitriona is delighted to take up this new position and says  “I am enthusiastic about the contribution SMEs make to local economies, and throughout my career I have advocated for the growth and nurturing of new and established businesses. I am looking forward to working with all the members of DWIBN and supporting the voluntary committee and the ongoing development of strong networks throughout the region.”

This year marks 22 years since the formation of Donegal Women in Business Network, the voluntary peer support network that was initially created by Donegal County Enterprise Board (the forerunner to the Local Enterprise Office) and it has scaled new heights over the years with a current membership of over 200 members.

The Network has also adapted well to online networking and peer support over the past year, providing much needed support for women in business in the county during a very difficult time.

In recognition of this growth, Local Enterprise Office Donegal have built on this ongoing partnership by funding a Network Facilitator to support the voluntary committee and the work the Network does.

Michael Tunney, Head of Enterprise, praised the Network for their work so far and welcomed Caitriona by saying “The Donegal Women in Business Network is one of most successful women’s business networks in the country and Local Enterprise Office Donegal is delighted to be able to continue its support of the Network through the direct funding of the Network Facilitator for the next two years. We hope that Caitriona will enable the Network continue to grow through an enhanced partnership with the Local Enterprise Office and through increasing the ambition and business innovation within the network and its members.”

Jo Daly, President of the Network, says “the strength of the Network can only continue to grow with the ongoing support of Local Enterprise Office Donegal and the appointment of Caitriona as new Network Facilitator. There has never been a greater time for communities to build and work together and for all women in business to take advantage of the opportunities available to them in the DWIBN, a Network that continues to open doors and offer opportunities. Caitriona will be a huge support to the work we do and will fit in well with her strong, can-do attitude!”
