Pink and blue lights are shining from Letterkenny University Hospital tonight in a poignant display for Baby Loss Awareness Week 2021.
The hospital is joining the international wave of light which takes place each year at 7pm on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day.
The event is aimed at raising awareness of the issues affecting families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or a baby. The lighting up of the hospital is in honour of all bereaved parents, families and friends.
The Global Wave Of Light is in memory of all the babies who lit up our lives for such a short time. By lighting up buildings all over the world, the display seeks to connect thousands of families and to let them know that they are not alone. Families can join at home too by lighting a candle in memory of the baby or babies they have lost.
