An exciting fundraising raffle has launched this week in memory of a much-loved young local girl, Aimee Devenney.

Aimee sadly passed away this time last year from an Asthma attack. As her anniversary approaches, the 14-year-old teen continues to be dearly missed by all who knew her.

As a show of support to Aimee’s family, who are from Rann na Feirste, the SULT Committee in Gaoth Dobhair are dedicating their latest Sult Competitions raffle to raising funds for both the Asthma Society and Pieta House North West.

For only €10 a ticket, one lucky winner will be getting their hands on a Sony PS5 console – which is one of the most sought-after Christmas gifts of the year.

SULT Competitions is a not-for-profit organisation which was established in 2021 as a fundraising entity for the SULT Féile Music Festival. It is the only not-for-profit competition page operating in Ireland. Run by the SULT Committee, the initiative builds on the charity and community outreach efforts of the festival. All proceeds from draws (excluding the PS5 charity draw) go towards growing the SULT Féile music festival. Competitions are run in a transparent manner online and operate pursuant to a permit.

“Giving back to the community was always what SULT was about,” said a committee spokesperson.

“We have always had a dual purpose of contributing to local charities and showcasing the best local talent the region has to offer.

“When we were brainstorming for our charity raffle, the family of Aimee Devenney was the obvious choice. We are delighted to support their fundraising for the Asthma Society and Pieta House North West.

“Aimee had a such a positive impact on all who knew her and her infectious smile and positive attitude was contagious. She was loved by all who knew her.”

Tickets for the PS5 raffle are €10 and there will be a maximum of 250 tickets sold. The draw closes on 27th December 2021.
