Newmills will come to a standstill today for the funeral of a much-loved young Donegal woman who passed away peacefully this week.
Róise Quinn from Newmills, beloved daughter of Cathal and Rachel, was a much-loved and talented young woman. She had a gift for music and acting and starred in many local stage productions.
Róise’s parents, brothers Patrick and John and her wide circle of family and friends are being comforted by loved ones at this time.
Her funeral Mass will be held this afternoon at St. Columba’s Church, Glenswilly, at 12pm, with interment afterwards in Kilpeak Cemetery.
Tributes to Róise have described her as a ‘gorgeous, talented and spirited young girl’.
The Letterkenny Musical Society extended their deepest condolences to her family and said they have many fond memories of Róise in their productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Wizard of Oz.
Glenswilly GAA club have remembered Róise’s sporting days playing underage football with Glenswilly. She was also a member of Scór Nuachleas team. CLG Bord Inis Eoghain also paid tribute to her memory.
Other tributes from those who knew her said Róise was a ‘bright star’ with a ‘gentle soul’ and a talented musician who ‘lit up our days with her lovely smile’.
